Handling of Natural Resources

In manufacturing our products, we process the natural raw material wood. We therefore place great value on a conscious and responsible use of the material we work with.

Wood from PEFC-Certified Forests

We use sawn timber from PEFC-certified forests. PEFC certification stands for forest management certified in accordance with PEFC requirements.

Only the Most Valuable Part of the Tree

We obtain the heartwood from companies that set aside the innermost part of the trunk, the heartwood, exclusively for us. This wood is particularly valuable because it is the oldest part of the tree, in which most of the active constituents are stored.

Electricity and Energy

For our production we use electricity from renewable energy, specifically hydropower. Our production facilities are designed for efficient use of the energy consumed.

Production and Quality

We manufacture the HygieneHolz products, as well as the pine heartwood extract that forms the basis of all our cosmetic products, in-house. To be able to deliver products of consistently flawless quality, we have introduced a strict quality management system with checks throughout the entire production process. This quality assurance process includes initial sampling, incoming goods inspection, production control, test equipment management and documentation.

Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)

Our quality management system adheres strictly to the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practice. These include control measures covering the manufacture of cosmetic products, which are intended to ensure consistent, reproducible product quality.

In this way, we can guarantee that our cosmetic raw materials, as well as our cosmetic products, are manufactured in a clean, hygienically flawless environment so that any kind of contamination is reliably ruled out. GMP-compliant production is intended to ensure that the specified quality is preserved unchanged and is not adversely affected by the manufacturing method.

Of course, these guidelines relate not only to the production process but also include the quality of the raw materials used and the environmental conditions.

Requirements for Raw Material Manufacturers

The raw materials we use to manufacture our products must likewise be of consistently good quality. All starting materials must therefore meet defined specifications and be of consistently good quality. This applies equally to chemical and physical product parameters as well as to microbial purity. Compatibility between the raw material and its packaging must also be ensured.

Raw material quality, such as product and storage stability, adequate preservation and compatibility between raw material and packaging, is already tested during the development phase, and corresponding raw material specifications are defined.

Containers of raw materials delivered to us must also be clearly identifiable and labeled with the following details: product name, batch number, quantity, gross weight and tare. As these requirements for quality, packaging and labeling make clear, we also expect our raw material manufacturers to meet basic GMP conditions.
